Dee Theart finds a room to rent on TheRoomLink

Anna Lourens in Stories

Dee Theart, radio presenter, MC and voice artist, best known for her work at MFM 92.6 and savvy Wednesday conversations on RSG radio station’s Befonk show, spoke with us about finding a room to rent on TheRoomLink.

As a young professional in the media industry it is important to stay in touch with what’s current. This is exactly how Dee found out about TheRoomLink:

D: “I heard about TheRoomLink via an acquaintance whom I interviewed on my radio show, Befonk, on RSG radio station. I got in touch with Liezl of TheRoomLink to discuss the prospect of an interview on my show, as I thought many of the radio show’s listeners could benefit from hearing about TheRoomLink. At the same time I was in the process of moving from Cape Town to Johannesburg and was busy looking for accommodation. I decided to create a TheRoomLink profile and in my search the site deemed successful, as I found a place that fitted my accommodation needs at that stage.”

Unlike other property listing websites, TheRoomLink is a matching site where renters and landlords meet. Profiles are created to ensure that you find the best match for your needs. This is what Dee Theart had to say about the registration process:

D: “I found it to be very easy and most importantly, very thorough. The profile section had all the questions that people renting out need to know about prospective renters.”

Once registered, the linking begins. This is where renters and home-owners connect!

D: “The matching element is a definite highlight. It makes life easy to create a profile and then basically sitting back and receiving ample mails with possible “accommodation matches” and direct messages from people who think you are a suitable renter for their renting space.”

Finding a room to rent can be stressful. TheRoomLink strives to provide you with all the information you need to help you with the  process, whether you are a young professional, like Dee, a student, or a landlord.

D: “Communication from the site was clear and continuous. It was pleasant to know exactly what was going on during each stage of the process.”

Dee responded positively when asked if she would recommend TheRoomLink to family and friends.

D: “I tell everyone that I know is looking for accommodation and everyone who have possible renting spaces about TheRoomLink. The website is such a great place for matching renters and people with renting space.”

When asked where she thought we could improve, Dee said “nothing major”. She did however point out what makes TheRoomLink unique.

D: “I received a lot of mails even after I was sorted out with accommodation. Possibly more information about indicating that you have succeeded in finding accommodation/a renter can be supplied by TheRoomLink, so that mails don’t continue to flow in.”

What makes us unique is that you only have to create your in-depth profile once and thereafter you can choose to either publish or unpublish your profile. Unlike listing sites your information is saved to your account. You have control over when to make your profile public. This saves you time in the long run since you don’t have to redo your profile every time you’re looking for the perfect accommodation. Simply log in to your account and activate your ready-made profile!

You can also subscribe or unsubscribe to newsletters and/or matching emails. These matching emails keeps you informed on new rooms and renters available that match your needs.

TheRoomLink helps you find the property you are looking for. Renting out a spare room or finding a place to stay doesn’t have to be a time-consuming experience. By creating an online profile, similar to what you would do on a social media site, we can match you with your ideal accommodation, easy and fast.
